Familial Dysautonomia Path to the Cure

Familial Dysautonomia (FD) is a rare children’s genetic disease that affects the autonomic and sensory nervous systems which control all involuntary bodily functions. Every physical function that we take for granted is affected by it — respiratory, cardiac, orthopedic, renal, ophthalmic, and others. Symptoms are present at birth and grow worse over time.

We were pleased both to participate personally in the April 15, 2012, 5K Walk for Familial Dysautonomia — Path to the Cure and have the Susan and Jack Holender Children’s Fund participate financially as an event sponsor.

In addition to the 5K Walk for Familial Dysautonomia — Path to the Cure, the Susan and Jack Holender Children’s Fund participates in a variety of projects that promote the health and welfare of children. Because we have an all-volunteer staff, every dollar raised goes directly to the medical care, research, and support of children in need. Please donate to the Susan and Jack Holender Children’s Fund so that we may continue supporting important projects like Path to the Cure.
