Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 2020
Putting an End to (T1D) Juvenile Diabetes, One Step at a Time: Virtual Type One Nation Summit Walk November 1, 2020
We are honored to once again, announce that The Susan & Jack Holender Children’s Fund is partnering with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help find a cure for type one diabetes (T1D) and improve the lives of those affected by this disease. JDRF Virtual One Walk is a community celebration for those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and the research advancements we’ve all worked to achieve.
On Sunday, November 1, we came together as a global community for the JDRF One Walk 2020! While we can’t be together in person due to Covid-19, we are thrilled to announce we have hosted a virtual experience starting on Sunday, November 1 to kick start National Diabetes Awareness Month.
After all, the Walk has never been just about a route, the tents, the music, or the goodies in the food tent. It is the unified spirit of the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community coming together as one force rallying for an end to T1D. A reimagined Walk will NOT change that unity and commitment to finding a cure. Collectively as a nation, JDRF‘s goal is to walk 1.6 million miles this fall for the 1.6 million Americans living with T1D.

What is Type 1 Diabetes?
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease that strikes both children and adults suddenly. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle. If you have T1D, you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, rely on injected or infused insulin and carefully monitor you’re eating and activity. It is a serious and stressful disease to manage. You cannot prevent it–and currently, there is no cure.
