Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs
Our fund is proud to support Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs, a non-profit organization whose purpose is much the same as ours: to improve the quality of life for children in need of help.
Positively impacting over 1000 children throughout Bucks County and its surrounding communities each week, Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs’ services are provided by unpaid volunteers, entirely free of charge to families, schools, and taxpayers and are completely reliant on donations.
Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs helps elementary school children with a variety of reading challenges to gain the confidence and comfort required for them to succeed. Therapy Teams also supply unique, irreplaceable support in classrooms where reading is not the focus of the therapy team/student relationship. Specially trained therapy dog teams soothe the fears of minors in the Child and Youth Services system and Minor Victims of Violent Crimes in the district attorney’s office as they participate in lengthy legal proceedings in the Bucks County Courthouse.
Roxy Reading’s annual fun-filled, fundraising event, “Strut Your Mutt with Roxy Reading Therapy Dogs,” takes place on Kentucky Derby Day. Featuring dog and human hat contests, CGC testing, puppy kissing booth, rescue pups, rally demos, pet portraits, entertainment, food, & more, it’s a not-to-be-missed community event at Fanny Chapman Park in Doylestown.
