On Sunday May 15, 2016, Susan and Jack Holender had the delight of taking part in the Clarke’s Listening Walk at the Zoo presented by Clarke Schools for Hearing and Speech. Clarke’s Listening Walk at the Zoo was designed to encourage children who are deaf or hard of hearing to use their listening skills and discover new sounds throughout the zoo.

Clarke's Listening Walk at the ZooThe Listening Walk was a pleasurable filled day event with Clarke children, families and friends! The Clarke students and alumni went on a listening scavenger hunt through the Philadelphia Zoo. Clarke children, used their cochlear implants or hearing aids and skills they have learned at Clarke, visited Listening Stops throughout the zoo, listening for animal sounds while also learning about zoo animals. It was also our great pleasure to sponsor Listening Stop #10 Barnyard Animals. This was a wonderful fun filled day with over 1,000 enthusiastic participants.
